Short answer: In a medium iced drink, 7 Brew's nutrition guide lists 120 mg of caffeine for a latte, breve, mocha or 7 Original like the Blondie, 114 mg for a plain 7 Energy and 268 mg for a cold brew. The most caffeine on the menu is a large mocha frozen chiller at 362 mg. 7 Fizz sodas, lemonades, smoothies and shakes have none, and 7 Brew says any espresso drink can be made decaf.

Hot or iced, the guide lists the same caffeine for every 7 Original, so a Blondie, Brunette or Smooth 7 all have 120 mg in a medium. As frozen chillers they differ; see below. Flavored cold brews have a little less than plain cold brew.

Frozen chillers are blended, and for most regular coffee drinks (not the sugar-free ones) the guide lists more caffeine than the iced version:

7 Energy has no kids size. Regular 7 Energy chillers have about half the caffeine of the iced drink. Sugar-Free 7 Energy keeps the same caffeine as a chiller, and sugar-free flavored chillers lose a little. A 12 oz can of 7 Energy has 114 mg, the same as a medium. Hot black and Paris teas have far less caffeine than iced, as printed in 7 Brew's guide: a medium hot black tea is 11 mg against 128 mg iced, and a medium hot Paris tea is 9 mg against 102 mg iced. Hot green tea has more than iced in every size except medium. Earl Grey, cinnamon spice and decaf are the same either way, and hot chai and matcha lattes have a little more than iced.

Flavored teas: iced flavored black, green and Paris teas, like the Georgia Peach, Hula and Cherry Blossom, have a little less than the plain iced tea. In a medium, they are 106 mg on black tea, 85 mg on Paris tea and 50 mg on green tea. See our 7 Brew tea guide.

Which 7 Brew Drink Has the Most Caffeine?

  • Most overall: a large mocha frozen chiller, at 362 mg.
  • Most without blending: a large cold brew, at 357 mg. Cold brew has the most caffeine of any hot or iced drink at every size.
  • Most in a medium: a medium mocha frozen chiller, at 272 mg, just ahead of a medium cold brew at 268 mg.
  • Most in an energy drink: a large plain 7 Energy, at 152 mg.

A large cold brew has about three times the caffeine of a medium latte.

How Much Caffeine Is in a 7 Brew Blondie?

A Blondie has 120 mg in a small or medium and 240 mg in a large, hot or iced. A kids Blondie has 60 mg. As a frozen chiller it has more: 152 mg small, 233 mg medium and 304 mg large. The sugar-free Blondie has 120 mg in a medium, hot, iced or frozen. A Blondie cold brew is different again, at 89, 156, 246 and 335 mg.

Caffeine-Free Drinks at 7 Brew

These have 0 mg in every size, according to the nutrition guide:

7 Brew's support page also suggests steamers, hot cocoas and flavored waters for anyone avoiding coffee or caffeine. The nutrition guide does not include them.

Does 7 Brew Have Decaf?

Yes. 7 Brew says it offers decaf espresso and can make any of its espresso-based drinks decaf, and most of its coffee drinks can also be made half-caf. A decaf shot has "about 2mg or less of caffeine," 7 Brew says. Cold brew is the one coffee that cannot be made decaf.

For tea, 7 Brew has a decaf tea base, listed at 1 mg in every size, and its fruit teas can be made on it.

Lowest-Caffeine Drinks That Still Have Some

If you want a little caffeine, not a lot, a medium from these lines stays under 20 mg:

  • Matcha latte, iced: 17 mg
  • Chai latte, iced: 16 to 19 mg
  • Earl Grey or cinnamon spice tea, hot or iced: 11 mg
  • Hot black or Paris tea: 9 to 11 mg

How Much Caffeine Is Too Much?

The FDA says 400 mg a day is "an amount not generally associated with negative effects" for most adults. On the guide's numbers:

  • A large cold brew (357 mg) or a large mocha frozen chiller (362 mg) comes close to that in one drink.
  • Two large lattes (480 mg) go over it.
  • A medium latte (120 mg) is under a third of it.

The FDA also says medical experts advise against energy drinks for children and teens, and suggests anyone who is pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding talk to a health care provider about caffeine. If you are ordering for a child, the caffeine-free drinks above have none, while a kids latte has 60 mg and a kids cold brew 112 mg.

Caffeine and Cup Size

Caffeine does not always grow with the cup at 7 Brew. A hot or iced medium latte or Blondie has the same 120 mg as a small, while cold brew, Americanos and 7 Energy step up with each size. It depends on the drink and size. A medium latte, breve, mocha or 7 Original has 120 mg, hot or iced. A medium Americano has 180 mg and a medium cold brew 268 mg.
